Colorado Requirements for a CDL
All CDL applicants have to take a general knowledge test as well as a driving skills test in order to receive any class of commercial license in Colorado. You must also get a commercial permit before beginning the CDL certification process.
In order to receive a CDL in Colorado, you must have:
- A valid US drivers license or a commercial permit
- DOT medical card
- Proof of identity
- Proof of residence
- Proof of Colorado residence
- Social Security number
- Commercial driving skill test
