Colorado Requirements for a CDL

All CDL applicants have to take a general knowledge test as well as a driving skills test in order to receive any class of commercial license in Colorado. You must also get a commercial permit before beginning the CDL certification process.

In order to receive a CDL in Colorado, you must have:

A valid US drivers license or a commercial permit
DOT medical card
Proof of identity
Proof of residence
Proof of Colorado residence
Social Security number
Commercial driving skill test
